Call for Submissions Poster

Hi friends and artists,

Here is a poster giving the details of our event for artists and sculptors, jewellers and ceramicists. Could you share with people you know who may like an opportunity to exhibit. It's not always easy, and we're not always confident, as a budding or new artist, to find places to get feedback and to show off our work. Speaking from experience, it is such an ego lift when you do see your first work in an exhibition.

It'd be marvellous to get a good cross section of works for this wonderful cause Race4Life Trust - and if you as the artist do sell a work I imagine it would be especially heart-warming. So go you! and go your mates! Let's get a fabo range of stuff together and plan for a thrilling event in December, St Heliers, Auckland

Race4Life Trust would love our support

This awesome New Zealand Trust grants wishes for adults in palliative care. Just have a quick look here at some of the amazing people they've worked with.

They just need to have enough money coming in to sustain their services. It's pretty impressive when you have a look at the number of businesses who support this group with donations of time, accommodation and services.

So all I'm doing is to provide a venue for artists who may not have the body of work to generate an exhibition all alone, or who want to take part in a relaxed atmosphere in a local home where the artworks can be shown off  to a varied audience.

December 3 is a Sunday and we have plenty of wall space for artists who have proven themselves and those, like me, who haven't yet! Please take the opportunity to show off. You may surprise yourself? There's room for garden art and even jewellery.
Let me know via email so I can reserve a wall or two for you. And please pass on to likely lads and ladies.

I've been making soft stone sculpture - what can you make!

Regarding exhibiting in The Artery in December 2017...

Here is what I was thinking..... given that this is a fund raiser. And I want you to be serious about booking a space for your artwork. The charge to display your work is $50 per item. You can book up to 2 spaces and closer to the time I'll ask for $50 for each space as confirmation. You decide what you want to price your work for. We then add a commission of 20%. When your artwork sells you get the total asking price less the Commission with the $50 hanging fee refunded.

Sound fair?

An example: Your work sells! which was for sale at $1000 less 20% commission to Race4Life Trust (20% off $1000 = $200) which leaves you $800 and you would have paid $50 to hang it which I give you back. Win! Win!

Book wall space early please

We have a certain number of walls and no more.. so it would pay to get your bookings in early. At some stage I'll ask for a payment to secure your space/s but for now let know if you're keen to exhibit. Happy to take a booking for up to 2 paintings or other works - tell me at the time of booking if you want them displayed together and likely sizes please.
Or outdoor art? Tons of room for that...

Let's make an exhibition of ourselves.... Many solo artists showing together. Here's your chance to commit to hanging a drawing, a painting or showing an outdoor work. Let friends and family know to Save the Date.

All artists welcome, from emerging and practicing artists to those with a name and fame, to all the faint-hearted starters. All attendees also welcome, from patrons of art to the curious and the disbelievers!

Soft Stone Sculpting

Our home in St Heliers, Auckland has a large garden with room for sculpture, a separate studio and the rooms in the house offer large walls where works can be hung. I'll maintain a schedule of wall spaces and whose work has been assigned to which space. Your job is to share this idea with your own networks so we do get a good range of artists on display and works for sale. Plus lots of people with wallets bulging and wanting to acquire wonderful work.
